About
Built by a dad who wanted his kid’s photos back.
Daycare Photo Download started as one parent’s fix for a problem every Procare family has: the photos are stuck in the app, and they disappear when your child leaves.
Why I built it
I’m a dad whose kid’s daycare uses Procare. The teachers post photos almost every day: art projects, field day, naps, the everyday moments you’d never think to photograph yourself. In less than a year we had over 500 of them. A few years in, or with more than one child, that’s thousands. And the only way to keep one was to open it and save it, one at a time.
Then I learned that when a child moves up or leaves, the parent account is closed and the photos go with it. So I built something that saves every photo and video to my phone in one go, each on the day it was posted, and only grabs what’s new after that.
Other parents asked for it, so now it’s an iPhone app, an Android app (coming soon), and a Chrome version for computers. It’s a small, independent company in Florida.
How we think about privacy
These are photos of children, so the design rule is simple: we never see your photos. You log in on Procare’s own page, the photos go straight to your phone or computer, and we never store a photo, a password, or your account data. The privacy policy spells out exactly what the app touches.
Who we are
