Google Photos · iCloud Photos

Get your Procare photos into Google Photos or iCloud without saving them one by one.

Your phone backs up every photo you take, except the ones the daycare takes. Those stay inside the Procare app. Here is how to get all of them into the same backup as the rest of your family photos, on the right dates.

Why they aren’t backed up already

Google Photos and iCloud back up your camera roll. Photos in the Procare app aren’t in your camera roll until you save them, and the app saves one photo at a time. So most daycare photos never make it into your backup at all, and they’re gone when the account closes.

The four steps

  1. Step 1

    Turn on your photo backup

iCloud: Settings → your name → iCloud → Photos → on. Google Photos: open the app → your profile → Backup → on. Most phones already have one of these running.

  2. Step 2

Save the daycare photos to your camera roll

Get Daycare Photo Download, log in to Procare on Procare's own page, and pick your child. Every photo and video lands in your camera roll, full size, on the day it was taken.

  3. Step 3

Let the backup do the rest

iCloud or Google Photos picks them up from the camera roll like any photo you took yourself. Now they're on every device you own, and safe if your phone isn't.

  4. Step 4

    Run it again each month

It only saves what's new, so a month of photos takes a minute. Your backup stays as current as the daycare app.

See it work

Watch it work: 39 seconds, start to finish.

We never see your photos. They go from Procare straight to your phone, and from your phone to whichever backup you already use.

On a computer instead

Prefer a computer? Add Daycare Photo Download to Chrome. It saves every photo in one ZIP, named by date. Unzip it, then drag the photos into photos.google.com or icloud.com/photos.

Questions parents ask

Does Procare back up to Google Photos or iCloud by itself?
No. Photos in the Procare app stay in the Procare app. Nothing reaches your photo library unless you save it, and the app only saves one photo at a time.
Will the photos show up on the right day?
Yes. Each photo is saved with the day the teacher took it, so Google Photos and iCloud put it in the right spot on your timeline instead of piling everything up on the day you saved it.
Do I need to do anything special for Google Photos?
Only have Backup turned on in the Google Photos app (it usually is). Daycare Photo Download saves into your iPhone's camera roll, and Google Photos uploads from there like any other photo.
Can I keep them in their own album?
On iPhone, after your first save the app offers to put daycare photos in their own album. Each photo is also tagged "Procare", so searching Procare in Photos finds all of them.
What about photos I already saved by hand?
They stay as they are. The app keeps track of what it has saved, so running it again only adds the photos it hasn't saved yet.
What does it cost?
Your newest 20 photos are free to try. Then $19.99 a year for every child on your account, photos and videos.
